Hymn

ARTWORK_WhenFacingStorms_Full_v1_10-UnderHisWings-Header-400p

This Hymn is one of my favorites and one that is an Immediate Singer for me – the slower the better.  The two convicting words and theme that courses through this piece are Refuge and Safety. Truly we can rest in Jesus, under His Wings!

Scripture References

The basis of this hymn is based on the following two verses of Scripture which are utilized in this Series as definitions for the words Refuge and Safety.

He Shall Hide Me (Refuge)
For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion: in the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall set me up upon a rock.
Psalm 27:5 | King James Version

He Shall Cover Thee (Safety)
He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.
Psalm 91:4 | King James Version

Hymn | Under His Wings

I’m in the Lord’s sacred pavilion;
I rest in the holiest place;
His kingdom and all its dominion
I’ve found with abundance of grace.

Refrain:
Under His wings, yes, under His wings;
I’m resting in Jesus, oh, it is precious!
Under His wings, yes, under His wings;
I’m resting in Jesus, under His wings.

I’m in the Lord’s sacred pavilion,
Where peace like a river doth flow;
Where manna from heaven is given;
Where joys are eternal, I know.

I’m in the Lord’s sacred pavilion,
Thus sheltered securely from harm;
With Him I have constant communion,
I’m resting on His mighty arm.

I’m in the Lord’s sacred pavilion;
Where I would forever abide;
Though once far away—a lost alien—
In Jesus I now can confide.
