The definition of “Advocate” is a word used in the realm of religion, quite often in the position of defense or defending an individual that may not be able to help themselves. In our dependence on Jesus Christ for our Salvation, we have an Advocate of Eternal proportions that is One that we cannot even plead our own case before the Throne of God, nor the world, successfully.

The Holy Spirit is the Comforter that Jesus Christ spoke of to the Disciples in the Book of John in the Bible. Jesus promised to never leave, nor forsake us, providing us with an ever present Spirit to replace His presence, upon His returning to Heaven to prepare a place for us as born-again Christian’s who would Trust Him by Faith unto Salvation.

The Holy Spirit is our Advocate here among us and Jesus is the Advocate before the Heavenly Father in Heaven. We have a defense team of Bible proportions.

To plead in favor of; to defend by argument, before a tribunal; to support or vindicate.
