Taking a “bakers” dozen list of quotes to see which of them and how many are given by a Christian Perspective will reveal something surprising to many who would just glance over and pass by the opportunity to consider the importance of them. It may initially shocking that anything from “Tecumseh” would be in the mentioning list, but take a look at what he says… His direction in which he may have thrown his thanks towards, missed the mark of who he called the “Great Spirit”, whom they worshiped instead of Jehovah God!

The following thirteen (13) are just that, surprising, and interestingly enough – on solid footing.

Passages of Scripture

“Make it a habit to tell people thank you. To express your appreciation, sincerely and without the expectation of anything in return. Truly appreciate those around you, and you’ll soon find many others around you. Truly appreciate life, and you’ll find that you have more of it.”

“When you rise in the morning, give thanks for the light, for your life, for your strength. Give thanks for your food and for the joy of living. If you see no reason to give thanks, the fault lies in yourself.”

“Gratitude bestows reverence, allowing us to encounter everyday epiphanies, those transcendent moments of awe that change forever how we experience life and the world.”

“Thankfully, while our self-righteousness reaches far, God’s grace reaches farther.”
–Tullian Tchividjian

“In the household in which I was raised, the themes were pretty simple. ‘Work hard. Don’t quit. Be appreciative, be thankful, be grateful, be respectful. Also, never whine, never complain. And always, for crying out loud, keep a sense of humor.'”
–Michael Keaton

“Talent is God-given; be humble. Fame is man-given; be thankful. Conceit is self-given; be careful.”
–Harvey Mackay

“As with all commandments, gratitude is a description of a successful mode of living. The thankful heart opens our eyes to a multitude of blessings that continually surround us.”
–James E. Faust

“May those who enjoy the faithful ministry of the Word feel exceedingly thankful for it. There are few blessings on Earth greater for a believer; and yet the Lord is frequently obliged to teach us the value of this blessing by depriving us of it for a season.”
–George Muller
