Having the opportunity of working on a presentation background and being able to intertwine the design into the poem itself created quite a stir in my mind – simple contrasts for such a pointed poem.  The words are as blended as the colors used to convey the essence of the floral imagery itself.

The Poem

The Fantasy of the Thought

The note that came in the midst of the night,
calmed all fears and relieved the fright.
Though it seemed so nice and sweet,
Things are not what they seem.

Oh The Fantasy of the Thought

It dries the tears spilled over the years,
the words sound sweet upon these ears.
But soon the pain again will reappear.

Oh The Fantasy of the Thought

Your mind plays tricks upon your soul,
the notes of forgiveness growing old.
The words placed upon the sheet,
were words of no giving peace.

Oh The Fantasy of the Thought

The words that sound of love and care,
only to mask the dread and despair.
Silly little innocent me,
for having trust put to thee.

Oh The Fantasy of the Thought
