This is one of the most pointed poems that I’ve had the privilege of putting to artwork for Courtney.  These words came from a very in depth discussion on a topic which should be a discussion conversation for all Christian parents with their children – abortion.  We could tell it was a deep thought provoking time – this poem is the result of how the application was made in her mind.  Tough to discuss – oh yes.  Required? Absolutely!

“That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ” I Peter 1: 7 | King James Version

Poem

Precious Is

A life is a life no matter
how small.

No matter what color, what
language or family.

Why can’t the children
ever be happy?

One day long ago, their
voice was lost.

And now with their lives
they pay the cost.

Never to know a Mother’s
love or care.

A child’s happiness given
hard glares.

Never to run, to laugh
or play.

Precious eyes that will
never see day.
