As is often my habit, an idea or concept is floating around in my head just waiting for a filler, this Series came about in a similar manner – immediately. More and more the meaning of what is being done is getting my attention for it has become more important to me that it be taken into personal account. Just a few weeks ago the passage of Scripture which this Series draws from was presented by our Pastor on Anniversary Sunday 2012 at our church.
A set of images, backgrounds and colors had already been milled over in the week prior – they just needed the right coordination in sets of four. There are two sets of four in this Series, included by Statements and Approaching thoughts. They follow:
Full Assurance of Faith
For He Is Faithful, Who Promised
Consider One Another
Exhorting One Another
In today’s ever swirling world, it has to be recognized that many things are changing around us, even right before our very eyes – some of them good, some of them not so good. Churches are being tugged and pulled in various directions in trying what appears to be everything “under the sun”, where what that should be doing is “Everything By the Son” – sure would have a MUCH better light to see by if we would just “see” it that way.
The correct focus is one that requires us to look upward first, realizing that our walk with the Lord needs to grow stronger day by day. With our fellowship and relationship being nurtured, as well as our vision of things that are going around us being adjusted by the Father’s consideration, we will find that it is ever more important to have those around us be our Spiritual family – the local church.
That thought is presented in the following verse which is where the Series name has been developed from:
“Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.”
Hebrews 10:25 | King James Version
Two Different Presentations | Same Message
Just as with many things that pass before us on any given day, there are items that strike us differently – some get our attention more readily, while others don’t strike an interest given the time we experience it. One item that shows this forth in a very pointed manner is a declaration that Christians will make about “who” they are, as in “being a New Testament Christian” – a declaration which has at times made a statement which the person may not have considered the full ramifications of in doing so. Typically those individuals present there living their lives as following the “New Testament” freedom, not considering where the foundation for that ability was fashioned…
In preparation for any Series, a full sweep is generally made to discover the “ribbon” through the Bible, so a better and more solid presentation can be made. That desire to have the “whole counsel” of God’s Word has been SO enriching and builds in me the awesomeness and consideration of His complete caring for the each of us. The Approaching Verses, which make up that second set of “four” puts a partial ribbon before us to show how that even in the earliest writings penned by men under Inspiration of God the Father.
It is my hope and prayer that each of us will give consideration to seeking HIM in a more real manner each and every day of our lives! Not as a cliche, but as to Encourage ourselves and others by having a real relationship with the very God of Heaven through His Son with the fullness of the Holy Spirit… As we see the day approaching!
