One of the most incredible experiences in life is the witnessing of a Miracle – one where there is NO other way it would have happened unless it hand of the Almighty God in it. For the Christian, there is none other more special than the Saving Knowledge of Jesus Christ being made evident in a person’s life. It is a combination of God’s Word, the realization that we cannot do this on our own and the Mighty moving of the Holy Spirit into the Temple – that person has a new permanent resident in them. Jesus Saves!
How Are We To Do This?
This is WAY too often the question that is asked about being a witness to others of our Faith being placed in Christ, alone. As a Christian, you and I have ALREADY been Born Again, right? Then, telling the story of what happened to us and how we came to the Saving Knowledge of Christ, Believing on Him, placing our Faith and Trust in Him. Our Testimony in a nutshell – but, how will they hear about the Saviour dying for the world, being buried and triumphantly rising again on the third day, if we DO NOT tell them?
No one has to “know” everything about the Bible or have a hundred verses memorized to share the Gospel with another individual. For starters, your heart needs to be burdened for the lost, which should be reflected in how we choose to live our lives. Am NOT talking about “lifestyle evangelism” here, but rather living LIFE in the realization of Eternity. Secondly, we need to have the real sense that lives will perish should they not hear the Master. So, we should begin with something, even a simple plan – like the Roman’s Road.
The Roman’s Road to Salvation is just about as simple a layout as can be shared. Most folks will remember John 3:16 (and 17 for some) which is a launching point for many a person when speaking of the Lord Jesus.
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
John 3:16-17 | King James Version
So, really, five passages (verses if simplified), can be your starting plan to being the Witness that our Lord wants us to be. The secondary verses, or context verses, are listed just below the main four: Romans 3:23, Romans 6:23, Romans 5:8 & Romans 10:10-11.
For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God…
Romans 3:23 | King James Version
Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus…
Romans 3:24 | King James Version
For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Romans 6:23 | King James Version
But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life.
Romans 6:22 | King James Version
But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
Romans 5:8 | King James Version
Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.
Romans 5:9 | King James Version
For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.
Romans 10:10-11 | King James Version
For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
Romans 10:13 | King James Version
This “Plan” is referred to as the Plan of Redemption by my Pastor – which I kinda like, alot! It is a simple, easy to follow, place to begin and build upon for the New Christian and Seasoned Veteran alike.
