Introduction

The beginnings of this Series came from an extended Scripture study on the use of “redeemed” in relation to “whom” was being redeemed and why.  Anyone who knows me knows that one of the most rewarding discoveries in the Scriptures is to find a ribbon which flows from the beginning to the end – Genesis to Revelation, redeemed is one of those words.  It can be found 63 times as that word specifically, save one time in II Samuel 4:9 | KJV, where it is found as “redeemdst”.

A general definition of redeemed is “ransomed; delivered from bondage, distress, penalty, liability, or from the possession of another, by paying an equivalent.” according the Webster’s 1828 Dictionary.

Our gladiolas from the front flower bed reminded me broaden my view and stay planted in the Old Testament… Specifically was looking for “redeemed us” in any partial form which took identification with His people.  Isaiah 52:9 | KJV proved to be just what was being searched for:

“Break forth into joy, sing together, ye waste places of Jerusalem: for the LORD hath comforted his people, he hath redeemed Jerusalem.”
Isaiah 52:9 | King James Version

That is where this verse took the next turn around the corner, with the Word of God speaking to me – as to have rounded the corner in the Matchless Power of His Majesty – to be presented with Isaiah 52:6 | KJV unlike anytime that it had been read before – this time it IS personal:

We each have to decide (one) that we will make the next turn, (two) that we can make that turn and (three) that we are prepared to hear Him Speak.  A specific struggle can hamper our ability to see any one, a combination or all three of those things because our “know” is focusing on things other than God.  Reminds me of another verse in the OT Scriptures:

“Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.”
Psalm 46:10 | King James Version

By “listening” and “seeing” the God of Heaven Speak through His Word, this Series has made way for a limited set of Encouragement prints considering these words:

My People Shall Know

  • It Is I
  • Thy God Reigneth
  • Again Zion
  • He Hath Redeemed Jerusalem
  • The Salvation of Our God

When God Speaks, Know Who He Is!
