What is Media Streaming?

Media Streaming is multimedia content that are constantly received by, and normally presented to, an end-user while being delivered by a streaming provider which includes audio or video playback . The name refers to the delivery method of the medium rather than to the medium itself. The distinction is usually applied to media that are distributed over telecommunications networks, as most other delivery systems are either inherently streaming (e.g., radio, television) or inherently non-streaming (e.g., books, video cassettes, audio CDs).

A stream of media can be streamed either by live or on-demand. Live streams are generally provided by a means called true streaming. True streaming sends the information straight to the computer or device without saving the file to a hard disc. On-Demand streaming is provided by a means called progressive streaming. Progressive streaming saves the file to a hard disc and then is played from that location. On-Demand streams are often saved to hard discs and servers for extended amounts of time; while the live streams are only available at one time only.

DeliverTheWord.com provides these services on-line without the influence of advertisements or promotions, while screening all content before it is published by the means of Moderators and as a another precautionary measure will use community features to filter out inappropriate content "after-the-fact." This site places restrictions on the content, subject matter and format of items used to comprise any Media Streaming stream. This site will NOT tolerate adult material and seeks to keep it out of ALL available pool of content.

Media Streaming LandingSpots must be monitored by at least one Moderator during establishment and uploading so that appropriate language and content are in as near real-time placed on the desired Media Stream system in a timely manner. If a Moderator is not available or unable to attend to the establishment of the Media Stream queue at any given time, posters will have to wait until an appropriate Moderator is located to moderate that specific Media Streaming stream being utilized.

This site and its Board Moderators makes final judgment calls on what qualifies as inappropriate content. Many services have options for private sharing and other publication options, DeliverTheWord.com will only allow verified users access of content posted within each respective LaunchPad, ReplacementActivator, LandingSpot and Moderated area.

The ability to tear down and defame others is a real risk to any Instant Messaging Stream. DeliverTheWord.com issues a warning of the dangers of allowing anyone without a clean track record to place messages in real-time to any Instant Message Stream, hence the reason our Instant Messaging system entry and approval areas are private and locked.

All access to Media Streaming are recorded and logged, for parental review, accountability and/or Moderator evaluation. These features and precautions are established for everyone's protection specifically and may be include review of each stream to ensure that consistent policy is being abides by the poster as well as the listener.
