The original thought for this Series came from a post placed on Facebook by a friend, Timothy Young.  As soon as my eyes crossed over it and I began to read it, the individual ideas popped right into my head – gave each sentence a return and the rest is “A Series…”

Friends are treasures, true gifts from God. A friend is someone, who loves you as you are. One who sees not only who you are, but who you can become. One who is there to catch you when you fall, and one you can share your everyday experiences. One who accepts your worst, but helps you to become your best. Someone who understands your past, believes in your future and accepts you today just the way you are. Someone who comes in when the whole world has gone out. Are you that kind of friend to someone? Do you have a friend who is that to you? The book of Proverbs says a lot about who we should not be friends with. Jesus is the best friend you and I will ever have. He is always there. He is there when all the world walks out. That’s the kind of friend that I want and the kind I want to be! What kind of friend are you?

Statements

The statements made in this dialog are ones that we can find Bible passages for, which Bro. Timothy pointed out in his post that Proverbs is full of them.  The seven statements are indicated in the following list:

01 | Friends are treasures, true gifts from God.
02 | A friend is someone, who loves you as you are.
03 | One who sees not only who you are, but who you can become.
04 | One who is there to catch you when you fall, and one you can share your everyday experiences.
05 | One who accepts your worst, but helps you to become your best.
06 | Someone who understands your past, believes in your future and accepts you today just the way you are.
07 | Someone who comes in when the whole world has gone out.

Considerations

There are three (3) questions asked in the dialogue presented to us, our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ is RIGHT in the middle of it.  Those questions are noted by FQ (First Question), SQ (Second Question) and LQ (Last Question).

FQ | Are you that kind of friend to someone?
SQ | Do you have a friend who is that to you?
>>  | The book of Proverbs says a lot about who we should not be friends with.
>>  | Jesus is the best friend you and I will ever have.
>>  | He is always there.
>>  | He is there when all the world walks out.
>>  | That’s the kind of friend that I want and the kind I want to be!
LQ | What kind of friend are you?

Will we consider Jesus in the VERY thought provoking presentation and guide as to who a Friend should be and what a Friend is willing to do?

Truly, “That’s the kind of Friend that I want and the kind I want to be!”
