Introducing

How many of us want to make a good “First Impression”???  It is almost a question that needs not be asked, of course we do – part of it is because we don’t want to be embarrassed or look like we don’t know what we are doing. It takes just a quick glance, maybe a second longer one, for someone to size us up when meeting us for the first time. In this short time, those persons are forming an opinion about each of us based on our appearance, body language, demeanor, mannerisms, and how we are dressed.  Notice that each of those things is based upon “sight” which is not influenced by any other sense…

While all of those things are superficial in nature, they are carry-outs or the product of what is going on inside each of us.  Those “first impressions” are usually the “lasting impressions” that people carry with them over into the response given to you and me, oftentimes without even realizing it.  So that would lend some credence to the thought “things will rub off on you” also.

Likely to be the case, as with every new encounter, we are sized up and yet another person’s impression of us is created for everything we do. Those “First Impressions” can be incredibly difficult to reverse or get an opportunity to do-over, making every first impression extremely important.  For we need to realize that each of us set the expectation for all the relationships that follow that “First Impression” — so set it wisely!

Realizing that First Impressions are Important

How we represent God the Father in our lives, by the Relationship we have with the Lord Jesus Christ as guided by the Holy Spirit is an indication of the importance of “First Impressions” in our lives.  Beginning with the verse from the main print, we have an opportunity to understand what we need to do and what level of importance they are to the LORD.

“Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.”
Revelation 4:11 | King James Version

There are seven words which make up the additional focus placed on Revelation 4:11 | KJV, which indeed are pulled from the verse of Scripture itself.  These words are the following:

  1. Worthy
  2. Glory
  3. Honour
  4. Power
  5. Created
  6. Pleasure
  7. Receive

Each of the verses used points back to who’s pleasure we are, who created each of us and pointing out to us who is WORTHY!  We can be that pleasing, honoring and powerful “First Impression” to all those around us, no matter the circumstance, when we give God the Father, Our Lord Jesus Christ the appropriate place in our lives and let the Holy Spirit lead, guide and direct our paths.  I want to be that Soldier of the Cross, who when they look upon my life in all aspects they say “there is something different about him and I want that something different in my life” — for truly they can if we prepare daily to give the best “First Impressions” possible!
