In The Midst Of Conflict

There is not a much more calm a place for me than to sit in a flowering garden on a bench – peaceful, tranquil and quiet generally. The passage that this verse is a part of is Romans 5, which for the Believer can look into to see a “peace” more bountiful than any flowering garden bench will ever be – for the Lord Jesus Christ is being foretold.

In the middle of all the chaos that seems to happen all around us, we can rest certain that the God of All Creation has it under control and is not caught off guard in any event or action. Will we rest in Him? Have found that the closer I am to Him, the calmer everything is – like the garden bench depicts for us in a manner of speaking.

Oh to stay close to my Saviour is to allow me to see His hand work in the little and mighty, in all areas, both known and unknown…

“Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam’s transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come.”
Romans 5:14 | King James Version

He Is Able

This IS what I NEEDED! This one of those times where my head is aching so that I cannot lay horizontal and every few minutes the floors are paced, while stinging pain comes in clusters – which are cascading packages of headaches like migraine bombs going off in my head. If you are reading this and do not know me, you might take that as a complaint – let me assure you, it isn’t – oddly enough, some of my most creative work comes when I can do nothing else but find something to take my mind off of it. In the lulls, writing, designing, researching is done – during the worst of them is when the praying, pacing and checking of time to when the next abater can be taken of a careful regiment of pain management depending on the severity of the specific cycle.

This set has been in my head all week – with this SPECIFIC image in mind – a dragonfly. Dragonflies have always interested me as they can be so varied in size, color and features. This one in particular reminds me of the following two verses in Ephesians – incredible handiwork orchestrated in an insect, just as He orchestrates a work in us that is WELL beyond our ability to even comprehend, much less do by ourselves. How does the work get accomplished in us? According to the Power that Worketh in Us – the HOLY SPIRIT.

How much? Above All. How so? Abundantly so. To what level? Exceeding He is Able. Whatever the trial, whatever the difficulty, whatever the unknown – He can and will use the Holy Spirit to guide, direct and provide for each born-again believer throughout ALL ages – not just some time ago and maybe in the future. He can DO those things for each of US right now!

“Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.”
Ephesians 3:20-21 | King James Version

The writing of this poem became one of those “Quick, anyone have paper, pen – something… I’ve gotta write this down!” moments.  Indeed Eternity is only eight letters, but what it really means to you and me is MUCH more than eight letters could ever captivate or convey.  Courtney put those meanings down in words – how we think about Eternity, the wonderment of it, how others could see our speaking of knowing.  This poem states what the end result is all about – Eternal difference and Who gave it to her so it would be!

Power of the Cross

One has to consider, at one point in our lives, where we are going point our sails so to speak. Oftentimes that pointing is done with some distant goal in mind, a place to be, things to have or maybe even how we might be able to help others with a certain difficulty or problem. While doing so, we rarely know who those people that we will cross paths with along the way, whether they be enablers, hinders or just passers by during the journey.

The “world” would try to convince us to only seek out those who will benefit us and allow us those higher privileges to be experienced as we climb that “Important” or “Corporate” ladder of life. Memberships and elite invitations are highly sought, as is having one’s name listed with prestige among those that excel and represent success, at all levels of life. It is the benefits that come with these associations which the “world” covets and treasures, marking the arrival of prominence.

What if we had the opportunity to have the guide right when we start off? Would it be, or could it be, possible for us to have benefits and privileges that don’t tarnish or go away? We could just start with this one for instance:

“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.”
Romans 5:8-9 | King James Version

Isn’t it wonderful to know that we can have all the benefits and privileges which flow from justification because of the Blood of Jesus Christ! Even while were yet sinners, Christ gave His life that we might have Eternal life with Him. That indeed is the Power of the Cross this Series speaks of…

A Few of Many Need Reviving

The fifth and final installment for this Revival Series presents a most compelling and indicting charge as to what is the largest tragedy facing our world today – so few people are concerned with Spiritual Things as it has to do with Eternal Life in God’s Heaven that has already been paid for by the Blood of the Lamb, Jesus Christ. The launching point for this discovery which leads to the answer to question of the ages is found in Jeremiah 42:1-4 | KJV:

“Then all the captains of the forces, and Johanan the son of Kareah, and Jezaniah the son of Hoshaiah, and all the people from the least even unto the greatest, came near, And said unto Jeremiah the prophet, Let, we beseech thee, our supplication be accepted before thee, and pray for us unto the LORD thy God, even for all this remnant; (for we are left but a few of many, as thine eyes do behold us:) That the LORD thy God may shew us the way wherein we may walk, and the thing that we may do. Then Jeremiah the prophet said unto them, I have heard you; behold, I will pray unto the LORD your God according to your words; and it shall come to pass, that whatsoever thing the LORD shall answer you, I will declare it unto you; I will keep nothing back from you.”
Jeremiah 42:1-4 | King James Version

We were challenged as a church to consider “IF it is even possible to start something?”, which must first begin with a Volunteer – someone willing to get themselves to a place where one could be Revived themselves, such that it could spread to our congregation. Dr. Capaci, in his final service with us, quickly had our attention locked on considering what kind of Love we have for the Saviour, addressing different kinds of love, leading to our contemplation of a Supreme Love for Jesus.

  1. Intro to Commitment – Only A Few On Fire
  2. Fervent Love For Others
  3. Love This Book
  4. Willing To Forsake To Be Used

Just as the remnant sought of the Prophet Jeremiah in their day, will we – NOT just are we willing – as they did, beseech the LORD so that He will show us the way wherein we may walk, and the thing that we may do?

This final collection of Revival Series presentations presents us with ten (10) challenges of where it all starts and how others will see that A Great Revival Is In Our Soul! Matching up to these just on the first time round will show us just where we are for the moment – and our lives are lived moment by moment. Personally, I want to be found having that Supreme Love for my Saviour, doing what He has asked each of His Followers to do.

The Faithful Desire Revival

The fourth installment for this Revival Series presents thirteen passages of Scripture in a manner quite convicting, dealing particularly with areas in a Christian’s life that affect each and everyone of us. To have have these areas be discovered while preparing this Series from the same Revival Services as the first three, has been triggered by a word, which is “Faithful” and a verse:

Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.
I Corinthians 4:2 | King James Version

We The Faithful

It may be a play on words, as in “We The People…”, but oftentimes people think that because they are at church every time the doors are open that they are doing exactly what God the Father would have them do, that they are following in Jesus Christ’s footsteps and are exercising the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. Right?! The answer is a BIG fat NEGATIVE on that one. If I’ll be honest with my Creator God, then it is going to be quickly discovered that I’m human – we all are.

We can be Faithful to lots of things and be just as rotten to the core as fruit, but with very few even noticing it, but we cannot fool God. I’d like to have all thirteen (13) of these areas RIGHT in my life at all times, sadly though, it must be confessed – it simply isn’t so. Will you be honest enough with me, yourself, those around you and the Lord – saying that we need help in all of these areas?

The list isn’t exhaustive, but what a starting point Dr. Capaci began by telling us of his own journey of faithfulness. He had five points, which, YES I made into thirteen – the Holy Spirit challenged me in each of them because of being in the position of seeking it for my own life.

  1. IN All Doings
  2. IN Assembling
  3. IN Families
  4. IN Fellowship
  5. IN Friendships
  6. IN Prayer
  7. IN Relationships
  8. IN Service
  9. IN Small Things
  10. IN Spiritual Things
  11. IN Stewardship
  12. IN Thinking
  13. IN Worship

This Series presents the framework of areas needing attention as being like this: The Faithful Desire Revival IN _____. Fill in the blank. Journey with me through these areas identified in my own life and commit to seeking God’s Hand in our lives to Revive us to where these areas are in constant check and bringing a sweet smelling savor to the Master’s nostrils.

Just Faith

Amazing to me that we have in the words of Scripture of the New Testament a promise that each of us can see as the Word of God that directly impacts each of us which actually extends from a Promise God made to Abraham in the Old Testament.

“And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, In thee shall all nations be blessed.”
Galatians 3:8 | King James Version

We have indeed been Blessed!!! There is POWER in the Blood of the Lamb – Our Saviour Jesus Christ. It is amazing how this study of two words “just” and “faith” presented SUCH a wonderful look at Abraham from the Old Testament and the Promise made to him, along with just HOW God provided from those before Christ was their substitute. From the first of these Scripture discoveries to the final one, we are reminded that the Gospel is for EVERYONE not just a select few. We need to be busy sharing Him with everyone we cross paths with and those we influence!

This is an UPDATE to a Series entitled “The Just Shall Live By Faith” or “Just Faith” for short. An additional twelve (12) designs have been added to this Special Series to a set of INCREDIBLE friends David and Cynthia Groff.

It was VERY difficult to pick just one image to represent this set and for those who will venture to the site, you will quickly find out why!

Seeking to be Revived

The third installment for this Revival Series presents six passages of Scripture, which matches up with the third service of an incredible time in God’s Word which our family has been immensely BLESSED! The photos used in this Series are pulled from here and there, including our Biltmore Estate collection, the breathtaking Gladiola flowerbed collection and a couple from a different perspective than most people would view them. A couple of these have never been seen before, which were taken for specific private projects — which is EXACTLY what this Series is all about. We’ve each as Christians been Revived at least once in our lifetimes – at Salvation…

What Are You Seeking?

Everyone is looking for something, many people just want to find something – anything… As Blood bought Believers, our vision should be “adjusted” to Seek out those that Jesus Sought and our lives to be Moved by those who Christ would Move in order they might be Saved. In that vision, we need to see the need — because we once were seen in that same manner, lost without a Shepherd — then we can moved to help fill that need. Know anyone who thinks they have strayed too far? Possibly know of those who believe their voice has never been heard and need to know He will hear their Midnight Cry? Oh, if they only knew who we really are!

It may not be a matter or whether or not we see who those who are looking for answers, but rather whether we really see their actual need of the Saviour and the working of the Holy Spirit in their lives. Jesus saw their need – He put it in these words:

“But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd. Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few; Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.”
Matthew 9:36-38 | King James Version

In our day-to-day lives, are we taking the time to seek the Mind of the Lord? Dr. Capaci made a very profound statement in Revival services:

“I wonder how it is with that soul?”

Are we willing to do our part, being the first to be on our knees before the Holy and All Powerful Creator God asking Him for the tools, study and learning opportunities to not only reach them, but FIRST to recognize them — right in the very paths which we cross on a daily basis? There is HOPE in the Lord – folks need to be told about that Blessed HOPE more than ever in our day and time!

This print has a declaration included which is one sought out myself, indeed is His Mercy Great towards me… It is the LORD I am seeking.

Our Revival Circle

This second installment for this Revival Series contains an incredible presentation of Bible Scripture matched to profound Revival Quotes. The focus of this set uses a Quote from Gypsy Smith as a launching point for us to consider in our seeking Revival in each of us: “Experiencing the Start of Revival.” His prescription for doing so was to draw a circle, get yourself in it and ask God to convert US ourselves, essentially creating “Our Revival Circle” which is what this Series is named.

Do We Really Want Revival?

That is the question that has to be asked – for the answer comes from deep within us and no one else can answer that question for us individually. It must be a realization that something is wrong in our own lives and something wrong with our loves.

I have to, you have to, we all have to realize that ANY thing, item, going which comes before our following God the Father is a “step” from which we each will have to return. It is personal, fiercely so, of which has to be taken care of at the foot of the Cross. Will I draw our circle around the Cross with me IN the circle? Will you? Will we challenge others – ONLY after we have done so ourselves – to rekindle a walking Relationship with our Lord?

It is my sincere hope that these bold prints will both show off God’s Handiwork and draw folks attention to His Word presented on each one. WILL we not only MAKE the Circle, but ALSO Ask God to Convert Everybody Inside that Circle — and KEEP Converting until we STAY Beside HIM?

Revive Us Again

Are there words to even describe what a Revival actually should be?  Many times we may think of them as being a “Revival Meeting” which is what has been my recall of them – a Summer Pulpit Revival Series for instance or a Winter Revival.  Many of us have seen or heard the following verse of Scripture referenced, as is the title for this Series built upon:

“Wilt thou not revive us again: that thy people may rejoice in thee?”
Psalm 85:6 | King James Version

When the state of our world is contemplated, how we have squandered our religious freedoms and released our values, it reminds me that the Voice of the LORD should be our director — not one we at all points turn away from. Habakkuk shared his realization to the LORD in this manner at the beginning of this Verse of Scripture:

“O LORD, I have heard thy speech, and was afraid: O LORD, revive thy work in the midst of the years, in the midst of the years make known; in wrath remember mercy.”
Habakkuk 3:2 | King James Version

The Bible reminds us, from the Word given unto Paul, written in Romans, the charge of how our lives are to be aligned.  The world does NOT do this and sad to say, MANY Christians have no idea what they have been Saved from or Saved unto as they aimlessly wander (and wonder) around.

“For whether we live, we live unto the Lord; and whether we die, we die unto the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord’s. For to this end Christ both died, and rose, and revived, that he might be Lord both of the dead and living.”
Romans 14:8-9 King James Version

What We Are All To Be Doing Right Now

The header above will strike most folks odd…  Look at it, almost a brain twister isn’t it?  Your mind wants to say “What We All Are To Be Doing Right Now”, but the words “We Are” are together on purpose.  WE ARE, All of us, to:

  • Abide In Him
  • Doeth Righteousness
  • Have Confidence
  • Hope In Glory
  • Not Be Ashamed
  • Pray Unto The Father
  • Tell Our Own Testimony
  • Sharing The Gospel
  • Walk With God

This Series being built upon a WONDERFUL time our family has had for what God has done in all of us through a godly man who was willing to do what God the Father has called him to do in a time aptly named a Winter Revival at our church.  Bro. Capaci was faithful to deliver, but each of us has to be faithful to be revived!

How does the above list describe your life?  The verse following is the key builder to showing us how it should be!

“And now, little children, abide in him; that, when he shall appear, we may have confidence, and not be ashamed before him at his coming. If ye know that he is righteous, ye know that every one that doeth righteousness is born of him.”

His Grace is Sufficient

This has to be one of the most exciting Series developments created in a number of months, but it will most likely be a totally different reason than most would think. These images are bright, visually appealing and are harmoniously coordinated. So what is SO different? Quite simply looks!

We live in a time and place where such things as looks being “the appearance” and has to be just so, so, well — just so… What we use to call “just perfect…” is now expected to be without blemish. One of the things folks are going to notice about the photos in this Series is that they don’t follow my normal presentation. Most of them have a significant flaw. What a relief!!! I’m not perfect and it comes with absolute surety that anyone and everyone reading this isn’t either…

For wherever we find ourselves, God the Father has given us an entire Book of all Books, His Word which shows how the Power of Jesus Christ may rest upon each of us as it did for Paul shown through the Series verse of Scripture II Corinthians 12:9 | KJV:

And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
II Corinthians 12:9 | King James Version

The Apostle Paul had to realize that “His Grace is Sufficient” because when he was himself at the weakest, the Lord Jesus’ would be made Perfect. He had a sincere desire for the Power of Christ to rest upon him, such that there would be NO question as to WHO was his source of Power! Even through his asking to have the “thorn in the flesh” removed three times (thrice), his answer was clear from the Lord in that His Strength is Made Perfect in Weakness.

Have we taken an inventory of our lives to see whether we “gladly rather glory in our infirmities” instead of using them as the stop-gap excuse to stop us from serving Him? There are 17 more to see, but you must go to the site to see them!

On The 3:16’s

Clever name to be calling a Series of Encouragement don’t you think??? It is amazing how we can read passages of Scripture in pieces and not ever recognize the links they can have to each other which are major in significance. Have been reminded of that very thing in recent days by a dear Friend as a story was being shared with me concerning an Old Testament passage. After reviewing the passage, knowing it had been read at least several times, realized that it was never seen in the same light as it was being shown now.

The most famous of the 3:16′s is of course John 3:16 | KJV, which is an anchor verse of Scripture, encasing a Truth and Promise that is Eternal.

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
John 3:16 | King James Version

The other side of that same coin is the use of another passage in the Word of God: I John 3:16 | KJV. Most often can personally recall in my learning and listening that John 3:16 and I John 3:16 as they were referred, the second was often referred to as the “other” John 3:16.

Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.
I John 3:16 | King James Version

The first of course showing us what God the Father has done for us and the latter showing us what we should be willing to do for others. The reason is most simple: His Love is an endless love, we can perceive (a more simple word would be “see”), thus we should be perceived in the same manner.

What An Honour!

Have you ever really thought about a statement that many, if not most of us, has made at one time in our lives — “What an honor” to do this or do that. Most of the time that stream of words is a statement, as in “What an Honor it would be to…” which will end with a period or an exclamation mark instead of the typical question mark. This Series, What An Honour!, is one that has interested me for a long time, but one that eluded me for just as long.

At first, the mind was jogged by a sermon entitled “The Potter’s House” which was preached by Rev. Kevin Broyhill at our church in August 2012. His text was begun in Jeremiah 18:1-6 | KJV which speaks of Jeremiah being stirred up to go down to the Potter’s house to witness first hand what a Potter does with clay. That challenge, coupled with the one heard several years back on “being a vessel of honour”, has made this Series come to life for me by a prompting of the Holy Spirit to find out WHAT the Potter was doing with the Vessel.

Ten Ways To Love

The trouble with a Series like this one is that my challenge starts off on the first swing at bat — just take a look at the title…  Listen — just how does one do that when they themselves are wanting to talk so badly that they cannot possibly focus on what the person whom they are supposed to be listening to is saying? VERY pointed subject for me — it is something that has taken a LONG time to learn to do, notice a word missing?  That word that is missing is the word “how“.  Learning to do something verses learning how to do something are indeed very different approaches at the same essential thing, but many people do not see it that way.

A person may be able to “read a book” on the subject in which they need “assistance” or “help” with, which is the “how” part of the training or development.  This list of ten (10) ways to love may at first look like an easy to master or tackle challenge, which just requires some “how tos” on the part of the reader, but it is BY FAR more than that.  The words may at first look like “Ten Things To Do To Love” and the list may look more like words strung together: listen, speak, give, pray, answer, share, enjoy, trust, forgive and promise.  READ the title of this Series again…  It says “Ten WAYS to LOVE”, not to do to love!

Keep The Charge

Oh how many times as a child can be remembered be told that my older brother was being “put” in charge “while” Mom or Dad, sometimes both of them, as they went in two different directions to do something. We were to “mind” what my brother said as if it were coming directly from them… That lasted about two minutes -or- as long as it took for both of them to get out of view, whichever was the shortest length of time!

The idea, of course, was to keep in the front of our mind’s eye that there would be consequences for any our-of-line actions that we might take in the absence of the authority we knew we could NOT get by with if they had actually present. Along with the “idea” came the knowledge of what would be “delivered” if my brother told on us! Those moments is where it is believed (by myself and MANY others) that my ability to persuade – others may say coerce or bribe – was developed to relative precision for a whole host of creative views of things…

The first real introduction to this thought came in a memorial service, a Celebration of Life, for a co-worker’s spouse’s home-going. The minister told us a few anecdotal things about the “Colonel” as most of us referred to this man affectionately. Then came the reference for this Series — I Kings 2:3 | KJV – with the challenge that we each needed to keep the family lifted up High before the Throne of Grace and Mercy, keeping them before God the Father.

His challenge was presented in such a manner we would realize that these days which are ahead would be tough and challenging to each and every family member. As he explained the verse to us in the service, he further challenged us to especially remember the widow as she would be picking up the pieces of her loss as it has been SO unexpected and surreal.

QUESTION: What will we each do with this absolutely profound verse found in the Scripture, written for the Ages, in the Canon presented to the Children of Israel — and SO aptly for Christians of our time, as if time had stood still? Each of these eight pieces depend upon the VERY first statement:

“keep the charge of the LORD thy God”

We have been entrusted with the Completed WORD of God – it IS the Instruction Book – containing HOW we can DO all the things I Kings 2:3 | KJV talks about. Will we, just as the minister of the service for a dear friend’s spouse did, challenge ourselves daily to perform these tasks? Better get to reading — it is after all, just ONE verse… There are approximately 31,239 other verses that have that SAME kind of POWER – we just have to discover what God the Father is trying to teach us through each one of them! The Holy Spirit is waiting on us to READ them and we MUST be willing to LISTEN.

Written In Red

This specific Series has been in development on and off for several months as a “core” theme had become somewhat elusive it seemed as it was picked up, put down and tucked away time after time. Having a desire to develop it once again in an effort to make it become a Series, several small steps needed to be trod which made finishing it SO much more rewarding. Isn’t it interesting how frustrating something becomes when it is being struggled with, but when God the Father places it before us, all of a sudden the search that seemed so difficult and tedious becomes a labor of love and pleasurable learning?

The idea for this Encouragement Series came about from listening to the song by the same name, Written in Red, by George Jensen being performed/sang by Janet Paschal. She also happens to be my favorite singer for this specific song. Jotted down on a card, which is my normal starting process for any Series – yes a piece of paper, normally a 4×6 note card – the title “Written in Red – Jensen” to remind me of the date and title.

The choices of design needed to include elements presented in red, specifically the writing, to match the Series name. Finding a design to adapt and enhance with symbolism was not difficult at all, but then came the substance… Couldn’t get solid footing on the Scripture wrapping for them – thus putting it down so it could be picked up and continued as to look at it differently.

Consider looking with me at the first verse of this song:

In letters of crimson God wrote His love
On a hillside so long, long ago
For you and for me Jesus died
And love’s greatest story was told

Now the chorus:

I love you, I love you
That’s what Calvary said
I love you, I love you
I love you written in red

This Series is provided as the reminder to each of us that EACH and EVERY thing that we do is something we should submit ourselves to the Creator God before doing. When we “Apply” the Blood of Christ to each area of our lives, it will be checked first and then done, instead of the worldly manner of doing so – which is to do first then figure out how it applies later.

May each of us get the Truth of this Series “Written In Red”, for it is what will change our lives FOREVER!

In doing some research today on “true” love for a new project, came across a Series done a while back which is called the “Persuaded” Series. Oftentimes it has been said that we can be persuaded to do this or that by the peers we pay attention to and/or the friends that we keep. Could we be SO persuaded by something to be inseparable from what it really stands for?

Do others see our RELATIONSHIP with Christ pour out of us in the most difficult of times? Even in the midst of the raging storm that is going on in our lives RIGHT NOW – will they? Can they distinguish our intents, goings and doings? Admittedly — this print and accompanying verse are NOT easily swallowed – a beautiful peach colored rose with a STORM verse – more like a GAIL FORCE HURRICANE verse.

Will others be Persuaded that God the Father is REAL to us and that the Holy Spirit is in control of us during those times? Those things ring true through SALVATION. Even in the midst of times of challenge, may each of us remember that even when others go through the briar patch, even ourselves, that the Lord intends better for us.

I’m Persuaded that my Salvation is not just mine to keep to myself, but the ultimate Gift of God, through Jesus Christ, that everyone should keep seeing – even in the bumps and grinds of life. We have an opportunity to show forth the “True Love” that has been shown to us in EVERYTHING we do. Do NOT be content on them just seeing it though a bit here and there – TELL them about HIM!
