He Is Everything To Me

This Series has been in the hopper for some time and was put before me once again by an image seen – albeit not the same one in which it was first planted. First, the original title for the set of phrases was not “He Is Everything To Me”, but rather “Thank You, Jesus”. After looking over the list, the “When I…” stuck out to me as all those things that the Lord is to me and is for every Christian. He is God & He is Faithful – which makes Him our Everything when we depend solely upon him for Everything.

Just as bold as the statements (which follow), the images chosen and the accompanying artwork gives us the opportunity to see our Lord as a mighty Eagle. Just think of all the things that He is to us when we…

Fall & Fail
Am Weak, Am Lost & Am Afraid
Am Hurt, Am Broken, Am Blind & Am Hungry
Face Trials, Face Persecution, Face Problems, Face Loss & Face Death

These are yet just a few things the that Lord is to us when we have difficulties, but this list is a POWERFUL place to start and once to keep close to our hearts.

In the seventeen (17) prints, two (2) of them are ones which have only the Lord’s response, where the remaining fifteen (15) have both. This list is directly referenced to people, places and events in the Bible so we will know the Word given us by reading His Word are tried and true, promises made and kept, for all to see.

  • He Is God
  • He Is Faithful
  • He Lifts Me Up
  • He Forgives
  • He Is Strong
  • He Is The Way
  • He Is My Courage
  • He Steadies Me
  • He Heals Me
  • He Mends Me
  • He Leads Me
  • He Feeds Me
  • He Is With Me
  • He Shields Me
  • He Comforts Me
  • He Provides For Me
  • He Carries Me Home

There are so many ways that our Creator gives us the opportunity as Christians to see Him at work and working in our lives – should we take the opportunity to realize and recognize them. What is it that the Lord does for you? How about through you for others to see how He takes care of you? We will begin and continue to work toward the realization of what “Everything” means to our Lord as we draw closer to Him.

What God Says

Oh how many times as Christians do we in a moments notice or at the turn of an event come all too quickly to a conclusion of “I’m” followed by something to bolster or prop up an insecurity like… “Not Able…”. These can be discouraging times, but we need to be reminded and Encouraged by being able to recall the God of Creation’s thought on the matter, not our opinion. We are yet to rely on Him by leaning on Him and His Word. This Series demonstrates just that for each of us.

The Scriptures, His Authority to us in written form, are filled with conclusion changers as we purposely focus on “What God Says” on the matters on and surrounding our lives. These of course are not an exhaustive list by any stretch, but are a core set that provide the security we need in order to know on the short that we go specifically to the Word and find helps for any challenge we face.

This Series focuses on thirteen (13) of these, which can – if we will allow the Holy Spirit to change us on the inside – re-orient our very responses to the things, words, situations we face at any given time. Hiding God’s Word in our hearts allows us the benefit of having the recall of them not only in times of our deepest need, bu more importantly allows us to focus on His Provision for us, always.

Two ways to Encourage others to seek the Ultimate Encourager’s, our Lord Jesus and God’s Word, by learning these ourselves and sharing them with others so they might know also.

New Obedience To God

This Series, which is the second set of prints in this Revival Set, is titled after Dr. Billy Ingram’s “Point” for the second sermon he preached for our Mid-Winter Revival, which is the following:

POINT | Revival is Getting Back to Normal Christianity

The operation of the thought was shared with us with a tipping point statement which is still as true today as it was roughly 2,000 years ago: the Holy Spirit was REQUIRED to change them – and they (the Disciples) were waiting on Him. When the Comforter showed up, as the Lord Jesus said He would, then we shift into a motion set forth which is the first Revival in recorded history, which we see in Acts 2:46-47 KJV

“And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart, Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.”
Acts 2:46-47 | King James Version

We are not seeking Him as we should be, which is showing up in every manner of our lives, whether that be socially in our homes, schools, jobs, neighborhoods, meeting places and churches. It is as if we are looking for that special “something”, which we are coming up empty handed at every turn – for we have missed the real “Someone” we have need of drawing nigh unto – the Saviour, God’s Son, Our Redeemer – His name is Jesus.

Oftentimes we may have heard the following verse used in messages of Revival, which is definitely true:

“If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”
II Chronicles 7:14 | King James Version

Bro. Ingram introduced us to the verse, but his launching point to re-orient us with his POINT, was OH SO MUCH MORE revealing of what needs be done in our hearts, lives and doings:

“Sow to yourselves in righteousness, reap in mercy; break up your fallow ground: for it is time to seek the LORD, till he come and rain righteousness upon you.”
Hosea 10:12 | King James Version

It Is Jesus Christ

To hear, to see and to experience how the God of Creation will use a man in the delivery of the VERY thing we need is indeed a VERY humbling matter of our GETTING right before our Creator such that He is the One we see. A matter of the heart, not one’s toes, is what needs be stepped up to, not “on” as some would say. We have little choice other than to Humble Ourselves, otherwise we are not taking God at His Word. The delivery is being made, the blessing being realized in our submission and returning to surrendered living by God’s Standards, not our own. Indeed, for me individually, as well as for our family, this has been a VERY good week!!!

An Odd Development

This Series is the first of seven in development and is completely out of order! The time our Mid-Winter Revival time was held January, 12-15, 2014 with me being able to get a couple of chapel services, as well as our regular service time on Sunday through Wednesday. Dr. Billy Ingram and his wife Ms. Christy (let us not forget their daughter Priscilla Lee too) were here as he preached and she sang/played for us. Bro. Ingram is a full-time Evangelist and Revivalist who travels majority of the year across the country.

This Series is number four (4) of the main Services, not including the Chapel Services held at our Christian Day School. Each of the Services struck major cords with me in a very specific manner and way, with identified challenges that needed addressing and priority items that need to be rearranged. As we as a family discussed each service, we came to discover that some of those items crossed, were intertwined amongst us, not being one persons or twos challenge, but involved all three of us. This one stuck out for all three of us – because of special challenges and circumstances, we all three know of many un-explainable moments, where the only way it is possible is because of HIM!

First Concept Print

The verse of focus to begin this Series is as follows:

And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ’s sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.
II Corinthians 12:9-10 | King James Version

While we would all like for those challenges we have taken away, there are often times where those weaknesses should be viewed a little differently. The Lord said that His Grace would be sufficient, because His Strength is made Perfect in our weakness. At first, that is going to sound a tad bit odd, but to live it and learn from it, one can have the right perspective once we realize He knows what He is doing in even those things we think are limitations.

The first print combines the three thoughts together into a single print, including the areas of: Jesus said… (John 6:63), God Knows… I can’t do it! (II Corinthians 3:5-6) and Exchange your inability for God’s Ability (II Corinthians 12:9-10).

Second Set of Prints in Three

This portion of the Series contains three prints with each one containing a specific word statement for consideration: Quickeneth, Sufficiency and Weakness. The same verses are used for these as the First Concept Print, but are broken apart for use to consider how they are important. It is the Spirit, not the flesh that does the work. We have to further understand that our Sufficiency is ONLY possibly IF of God – look for the change of word on the print. It is NOT a typo and I promise you will NOT forget it either. We will ONLY have it if it is of God, prompting the “if of God” statement. Grace is sufficient and Strength is made perfect through weakness.

Third Set of Prints

The final set of prints, which are named the name of this Series, It Is Jesus Christ, presents that supporting prints from the entire sermon from Bro. Ingram and is hinged upon a story that he shared about D. L. Moody. A reporter was following Moody for an investigation on a series of meetings being held, which he then reported that there was “No human explanation” for what was happening. In asking Moody how it was possible that these people were being converted from Atheist’s to Christian’s, his reply was simply “It is Jesus Christ” – noting that it was nothing Moody was doing, but rather what Christ had already done and was doing in the lives of those converted. The topical areas covered include the following:

  1. Believe | On His Name
  2. Abideth | Bringeth forth much fruit
  3. Witnesses | Ye shall be unto me
  4. Knowledge | That I may win Christ
  5. Resurrection | That I may know Him and His Power
  6. Faith | We have peace with God
  7. Strength | In due time
  8. Whosoever | Shall call upon His Name
  9. Giveth | Unto the humble
  10. Submit | One to another, clothed in humility

All of these pieces are essential for the Christian to understand in order to anything of Eternal value to be done. God Knows… I Can’t Do It – How about you? Who are you doing it for?

A Valentine to Remember

Anytime a Special Request comes across my path, am reminded first off of what an honor and privilege it is to be used in such a way to Encourage others – especially when it is an utter surprise to those individuals or group of individuals who are the intended recipients.  This Series has all of those defining pieces, which am certain that will just be the beginning of how the Lord will use it to Encourage others.   Almost cannot stand the wait…

A very special couple who do all kinds of special things, put a feeler out to see if there would be an interest in developing a limited distribution Valentine’s Day card for a group of ladies and gents who would not normally get a “special” delivery because their spouses have passed away.  Anyone that knows me knows – there was an IMMEDIATE YES given on that request and the cogs got to turning just as quickly.  The design would be up to me, the requesters just would like to have pink and/or red in the color scheme, with something engineered toward our more Senior Saints so that this occasion would be eXtra special for them.  The first image put together follows of two vibrant red corsages taken on a brick ledge – the petals of the buds are sprinkled with gold glitter for an extra pop to match the material used for the bows.

The typeface was critical in my mind, as was the use of something like an RCA Victrola in the design, thus those two elements are prominent in each design.  There are eleven (11) total verse of Scripture used across three different formats of image presentations.

Three Sets

  1. Standard Set | Utilization of photos of roses in various colors and one red tulip.
  2. Set One | Design elements to the left, with gradient of red and subtle background elements.
  3. Set Two | Design elements framed in from around the print, utilizing a sharp black to red contrast with gold elements.

Each of the sets are identical in Scripture presented and types of elements used, so the same message is conveyed.

The concept of this Series should be a reminder to each of us that not everyone gets to Valentine’s Day and has a Prince Charming or Beautiful Princess to celebrate the day, shower gifts upon and enjoy the company of… but they once did.  Even in being thoughtful in such a seemingly small way as sending a card, taking by flowers or maybe even just spending some time with them, a whole new world can be discovered about a person that otherwise may never have been recalled.  I’ve found that majority of the time, if not ALL of the time, that doing something like this for someone as a special blessing to them gets multiplied in the other direction in a manner we never could imagine would be – and we are the ones BLESSED beyond measure.

The Eleven Thoughts

  • 01 | Peace and Mercy
  • 02 | Toward All
  • 03 | Above All
  • 04 | Am Persuaded
  • 05 | Good Stewards
  • 06 | Righteousness
  • 07 | Love and Seek
  • 08 | Have and Do
  • 09 | Love and Keep
  • 10 | Cleave to Good
  • 11 | Be Followers

Some of life’s greatest lessons are learned only by listening.  God’s Word is the greatest “Lesson” teacher we have, but we need to remember the next best teachers are those who’ve been down the road, who’ve learned those lessons before us and are willing to share them in a manner most believable.  Because they’ve walked the path that seems to us so far ahead – they have done so… that is the reason they are called Senior Saints – and some of them don’t have anyone to celebrate with, unless we are willing to celebrate with them!  Trust me, they WILL remember and SO WILL WE.

Fear Not, Be Not Afraid

This Series began from a conversation with my Grandmother about not being fearful and afraid of things, with a side story of a tidbit of information about the words “fear not” which being talked about in her Sunday School class one Sunday.  She expressed the desire to study out how many times the phrases or equivalents to “fear not” or “be not afraid” in one shape or another appears in the Bible.  Anyone that knows me knows… this had already begun to stir my thinking cap.

A young lady of one of the members of her class took our her “new-fangled” smartphone, doing a search for how many times it appeared with a result of 365 times.  My Grandmother thought out loud about how neat it was that there would be one for each day of the year!  What a nifty thought that presented, but I’d read the Bible through a couple of times – that combination didn’t strike me as plausible because of the vast amount of times memory could recall it being used.

First Find

The first pure find of the word combinations “Fear Not” and “Be Not Afraid” are the two following verses:

After these things the word of the LORD came unto Abram in a vision, saying, Fear not , Abram: I am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward.
Genesis 15:1 | King James Version

– and –

With him will I speak mouth to mouth, even apparently, and not in dark speeches; and the similitude of the Lord shall he behold: wherefore then were ye not afraid to speak against my servant Moses?
Numbers 12:8 | King James Version

If we restricted the word search of “fear not” and “be not afraid” to exact phrases – the limitations are impossible to ignore, 62 matches for KJV (Fear Not) and 26 matches for KJV (Be Not Afraid), for a total of 88 matches.  Loosen up a bit, searching for all the words and partial matches, garners us 175 matches for Fear Not and 68 matches for Be Not Afraid, still totaling only 263 matches.

For more on the research across three translations: King James Version (KJV), New International Version (NIV) & Revised Standard Version (RSV), click on the Research link.  REMEMBER, the information is provided as an analytical research point, it does NOT change my stand on which Who’s Word I stand on and exclusively use.  The purpose of the research was to see if the “365″ uses would show to be true in other “translations” that could have been used to support the statement.

In the Bible study that the research sparked, there were twenty verses of Scripture that stood out to me as each and every one of them was being read and cross referenced.  It has been EXCITING to find the “Ribbon” not only through the Bible of each statement, but how God chose in His Infinite Wisdom to allow them to inter-weave each other like a zipper throughout.  In the most simple form of looking for the theme, 47 of 66 books carry the ribbon throughout, roughly 71% overall. A much more in depth study is showing something even more amazing, a continued theme from cover to cover of protection and relationship with the Creator – an AMAZING discovery indeed…

Fear Not, Be Not Afraid | Statements

  • 01 | I Am With Thee
  • 02 | Have Courage
  • 03 | Have Commanded
  • 04 | Will Praise
  • 05 | Have Trust
  • 06 | Will Not Fear
  • 07 | Abide Satisfied
  • 08 | Know Whatsoever
  • 09 | Have Strength
  • 10 | My Servant
  • 11 | Be Witnesses
  • 12 | Unto Me Hearken
  • 13 | Were Heard
  • 14 | Only Believe
  • 15 | For Behold
  • 16 | He Answered
  • 17 | Of More Value
  • 18 | Have Peace With
  • 19 | Receive Adoption

May we be reminded that we have nothing to fear from man and that we do not have to be afraid as a Child of the King!
