This Series has been nine (9) months in the making for several reasons – (1) it is an odd size, which presents a challenge on how to print them and (2) wanted to consider again how we can have the same response that Moses did for ourselves, our families, our church. An interesting quote grab from Matthew Henry set in motion the purposed delay, it follows:
Matthew Henry’s Commentary On The Whole Bible
“Note, God’s special presence with us in this wilderness, by his Spirit and grace, to direct, defend, and comfort us, is the surest pledge of his special love to us and will redound to his glory as well as our benefit.” (speaking/writing on Exodus 33:16 | King James Version)
We can purpose in our hearts in our daily walk with the LORD to only GO where He Leads, instead of going wherever we want and then think we can “justify” it by asking the LORD to come to where each of us are already. The statement made by our Pastor (Sermon from October 24, 2012, entitled “A Meeting With The LORD”) is this:
Statement Which Is Basis For This Series
“I’m Not Going To Go If You Don’t Go With Me”
Moses wanted to see God’s Glory in Exodus 33:20 “I beseech Thee, show me Thy Glory” to the point he was willing to do all the things Commanded of Him. Moses was persistent in his asking how it would be known that His people had “found grace” in the Sight of the Sustaining God. He further entreats the LORD as he promises to make all his “goodness pass before” Him, that he would “proclaim the name of the LORD” before Him, being also Gracious and showing Mercy to all those who should be.
His persistence was rewarded on the LORD’s terms – Moses would be allowed to “see” God’s Glory from behind, as “shall no man see Me, and live” was told him. The LORD indicated a place where Moses would be protected, giving him instruction of where to stand, the expectation of when it would take place and what he would be allowed to see.
Instructions For Each of Us Today
Would we be so bold as to ask God the Father to show us His Glory? Are we willing to seek Him where we would ask to look upon His Splendor and Magnificence? Will we be willing to seek out His Divine Presence, such that we might be an Honor to Him and make Known His Gracious Provision for all that will “Follow” Him?
We can have that Reassurance and be given Encouragement, by sincerely seeking the LORD’s direction in each area of our lives, not wanting to go anywhere without our Heavenly Father. Moses point blank asked the One and True God of Creation to show him the Way. By our prayer, we can be quickened, to be ready to go wherever the LORD leads, all the while refusing to go to or thru those places where He says not to go.
While we do not have the “pillar of smoke” or “cloud” as Moses did in his day, we do have the indwelling of the Holy Spirit to guide us. Knowing what the LORD has done, as in our reading of the Holy Scriptures, will help us to better know what can be asked for, which also gives us the foundation of where to start.
Are we humbled, dedicated and seeking in a manner that we can, along with Moses of old, ask to see God’s Glory? Will we keep approaching the Throne Room of Heaven until we get an answer as to what we should each do, go, say, consume, refrain from, look upon, touch and run away from? We can, Moses did – and He GOT what he ASKED of the LORD!

Welcome to The Encouragement Chronicles
The FIFTH edition of The Encouragement Chronicles for 2013 is a tad bit delayed, but that certainly doesn’t mean that work has been any less moving or busily prepared. The past several months have been tough for me personally, and in a business sense, as the door of one opportunity closed, with it also went a piece of my heart. One of the items put upon my pathway is the following, which is a “walking example” of this Family Ministry:
PREFACE in your heart EVERYTHING you SAY or WRITE with I LOVE YOU – WRITTEN IN RED
Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ did just that, He paid for the Word we have in our seeing, reading and hearing, with His Blood. That very thing begs the question “What is it that You Speak?”…
There are going to be some changes for DeliverTheWord.com and the tools being used to communicate. Several on-line tools by other companies and groups have suffered some setbacks, one of the most difficult is Fotomoto, the site used for Greeting Cards and Sales. Not sure all that will be involved as they have shut down the ordering side of their business. That tool is rather unique, as it combined several sites together, which allowed for seamless integration of the tools to send and order in the same place. Hundreds of hours worth of work was performed getting that site alone to work with the sheer volume of images – it is a BIG prayer item
On a positive note, Flickr has just been updated and contains nearly the full catalog of photos/images available on DeliverTheWord.com Websites. The logo will begin appearing throughout The Encouragement Chronicles as it will be updated to include all new and updated Series as they are developed.
Hope you will be Encouraged by a few New Series and a highlight of a few more! REMEMBER: Share this Chronicle with someone you love and care for, it may be just what they need to be Encouraged.
Do remember this is the once a month, large issue if you will, showcase manner in which The Encouragement Chronicles highlights the goings on of things happening with DeliverTheWord.com. These editions will naturally be larger providing everyone with a power packed collection new items to learn about and see how they have been used!

Series Showcase | I Will Look and Wait
Website | http://delivertheword.com/lookandwait
This Series began as a challenge presented to our fellas in our Men’s Prayer Time on Saturday evenings. To be honest with myself, God the Father and everyone, Micah was a book read through several times as part of reading the entire Bible over the past couple of years — nothing stuck out to me either time… This time it has been different because it was presented in the following manner…
Place yourself all those years ago, the time and period that these Scriptures were written, Micah the Prophet was in the exact same type of irreverent society that we find ourselves in today. This Series has bite to it, so be careful to understand where we are today as a society and Believers. The first seven verses of Chapter 7 record for us the following realities shared in both times being considered, then and now:
- Looking for something once available, now not there
- Traps are commonplace in daily life
- People making decisions based on reward, not standards
- Every day activities have repercussions, cause pain
- Internal turmoil drives people not to rely on or trust family
- We make enemies of our own households
|1024×768 (SVGA/XGA) | 1280×1024 (SXGA) | e-Courage
Then we come to verse seven (7) of Micah 7, which states:
“Therefore I will look unto the LORD; I will wait for the God of my salvation: my God will hear me.” Micah 7:7 | King James Version
Micah using the word “will” said, he would “look unto the LORD”, “wait for the God of my Salvation” and “God will hear me”. He said then what we should be saying now EVEN stronger, I know what He did, my God can hear me and I know that Someone who can do something about it! Oh how many times have we left God out of the picture until we are in such a predicament that we have now where else to turn? Would not it have been much easier and more simple if we’d have gone to Him FIRST when we realized that it was a challenge or problem bigger than we are?
Because of what I know about God the Father, the relationship so graciously and mercifully granted by the Lord Jesus Christ and the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, we can indeed put a “Therefore” in front of all three of those statements, knowing they are TRUE and RIGHT and POWERFUL. Indeed we can “look unto the LORD”, “wait for the God of my Salvation” and that “God will hear me” as a child of the King! What an AWESOME promise that we as Christians need to rekindle within and a INCREDIBLE challenge for us to put forth before a lost and dying world that has NO idea what the Bible is “there-fore”!!!
Each of the three statements taken from Micah 7:7 | KJV contain 14 prints designed for each.
- I Will Look Unto The Lord
- I Will Wait For The God Of My Salvation
- My God Will Hear Me
Scripture from Micah
“The first seven (7) verses from Micah 7 serve as the basis for this Series
- “Woe is me! for I am as when they have gathered the summer fruits, as the grapegleanings of the vintage: there is no cluster to eat: my soul desired the firstripe fruit.” Micah 7:1 | King James Version
- “The good man is perished out of the earth: and there is none upright among men: they all lie in wait for blood; they hunt every man his brother with a net.” Micah 7:2 | King James Version
- “That they may do evil with both hands earnestly, the prince asketh, and the judge asketh for a reward; and the great man, he uttereth his mischievous desire: so they wrap it up.” Micah 7:3 | King James Version
- “The best of them is as a brier: the most upright is sharper than a thorn hedge: the day of thy watchmen and thy visitation cometh; now shall be their perplexity.” Micah 7:4 | King James Version
- “Trust ye not in a friend, put ye not confidence in a guide: keep the doors of thy mouth from her that lieth in thy bosom.” Micah 7:5 | King James Version
- “For the son dishonoureth the father, the daughter riseth up against her mother, the daughter in law against her mother in law; a man’s enemies are the men of his own house.” Micah 7:6 | King James Version
- “Therefore I will look unto the LORD; I will wait for the God of my salvation: my God will hear me.” Micah 7:7 | King James Version

Series Spotlight | Every Other Word
Website | http://delivertheword.com/everyotherword
This Series is one that has been sitting before me for a bit of time, brought to mind by several men, but most pointedly by an individual who has quite a few more miles down the road than I do. As is often the case, needed a set images to match the Series, which is where this first image comes into the picture. Needed something strong, bold and attention getting – for the first verse of Scripture in this Series is BOLD:
Very clearly identified in verses 10 through 17 came eight phrases, that as they were considered formed and every other word structure that follows right through with the removal of a, an, the, etc. for keyword sequencing! For example, with verse 10:
Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.
Am not trying to change the Bible here at all – but making it personal does this to it:
Create my heart, God; renew my spirit.
In essence that is exactly what we are asking Him to do, to Create our Hearts – both yours and mine! Talk about JUMP off the page, a crying David over his GROSS sin against His God, gives us a really CLEAR understanding of David’s desire to be close to the God of All Creation. In asking God to create his heart, it is already known that what was being asked for was a heart of wanting to be perfect before His LORD.
The eight verses clearly present these “every other word” combos:
- Create and Renew
- Presence and Spirit
- Restore and Uphold
- Teach and Convert
- Deliver and Sing
- Open and Shew
- Sacrifice and Offering
- Broken and Contrite
While the images are one thing for this Series, my challenge to you is to see the Every Other Word challenge presented in this passage of Scripture – it is just simply amazing… May each one of us be willing to follow David’s footsteps in getting before the Throne of Glory in asking the God of Glory for forgive us each and rebuild us daily into what He would have us be! It is in us that are the World to be His mouthpiece and our actions, doings, goings… are what they really hear.
There are eight verses of Scripture focused upon in this Series, Psalm 51:10-17 | KJV. It is a cry out to the God of All Creation by David in realization of what he had done in His sight and David’s wanting to make things right.
- “Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.” | Psalm 51:10 | King James Version
- “Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me.” | Psalm 51:11 | King James Version
- “Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit.” | Psalm 51:12 | King James Version
- “Then will I teach transgressors thy ways; and sinners shall be converted unto thee.” | Psalm 51:13 | King James Version
- “Deliver me from bloodguiltiness, O God, thou God of my salvation: and my tongue shall sing aloud of thy righteousness.” | Psalm 51:14 | King James Version
- “O Lord, open thou my lips; and my mouth shall shew forth thy praise.” | Psalm 51:15 | King James Version
- “For thou desirest not sacrifice; else would I give it: thou delightest not in burnt offering.” | Psalm 51:16 | King James Version
- “The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.” | Psalm 51:17 | King James Version
Music | Oh! to Be Like Thee
Each of the five (5) verses of this hymn were specifically applied to images which would draw the attention of even the mere passing by of the eyes. A PDF of the Public Domain Sheet Music is also provided for those who would like it (FREE).
The Refrain is as follows:
Oh! to be like Thee, oh! to be like Thee,
Blessed Redeemer, pure as Thou art;
Come in Thy sweetness, come in Thy fullness;
Stamp Thine own image deep on my heart.
Verse 1 | Oh! to Be Like Thee
Oh! to be like Thee, blessed Redeemer,
This is my constant longing and prayer;
Gladly I’ll forfeit all of earth’s treasures,
Jesus, Thy perfect likeness to wear.
Verse 2 | Oh! to Be Like Thee
Oh! to be like Thee, full of compassion,
Loving, forgiving, tender and kind,
Helping the helpless, cheering the fainting,
Seeking the wand’ring sinner to find.
Verse 3 | Oh! to Be Like Thee
Oh! to be like Thee, lowly in spirit,
Holy and harmless, patient and brave;
Meekly enduring cruel reproaches,
Willing to suffer, others to save.
Verse 4 | Oh! to Be Like Thee
Oh! to be like Thee, Lord, I am coming,
Now to receive th’ anointing divine;
All that I am and have I am bringing,
Lord, from this moment all shall be Thine.
Verse 5 | Oh! to Be Like Thee
Oh! to be like Thee, while I am pleading,
Pour out Thy Spirit, fill with Thy love,
Make me a temple meet for Thy dwelling,
Fit me for life and Heaven above.
Sheet Music | Oh! to Be Like Thee
Each of the eight (8) verses of Scripture were specifically applied to images which would draw the attention of even the mere passing by of the eyes.
“Who is like unto thee, O LORD, among the gods? who is like thee, glorious in holiness, fearful in praises, doing wonders?” Exodus 15:11 | King James Version

Series Spotlight | The Four See’s
Website | http://delivertheword.com/thefoursees
Cannot tell you how many times as a youngster that the phrase “There are always two sides to every coin, so that means William Allen, there are two sides to the story you are telling…” was “brought” to my attention. Imagine that? Well, for those that know me well, a chuckle was just let out and for the others – what can I say… I’ve always loved a good “story”…
As we ponder the possibilities of this thought, there are actually three sides to every coin -and- three sides to every story. For the coin, it is front, back and rim, whereas for the story, it is mine, yours and what actually happened. The tendency in human nature is to favor whichever one serves us at the moment we find ourselves. People can “see” the side we are on much more clearly than we think they can, through our actions, words, goings and even in what we are silent over. The cliché ”actions speak louder than words” comes to mind and is a basis for this thought being presented in this “See” manner.
The Four See’s should cause people to take a second or third look at this Series, for we have the cliche of “the four C’s” in diamonds which represents:
- carat – the points in weight the diamond weighs
- cut – gives the diamond it’s brilliance
- color – determines what light is reflected by the diamond
- clarity – represents the flaws found in the diamond and the obstruction they cause to light
Most individuals would think that list of “diamond” C’s goes from most important to least important, where in actuality it is the exact reverse. Most people pay attention to how “large” something is as they assign value to the prominence that the object represents. Those items that are more readily seen by the naked eye are given more weight that the ones that are unseen.
The Four See’s for this Series are the following:
- Consideration – serious thought, having regard, taking notice of an action, all with a reason to have the right motive in doing an action as unto the Lord.
- Consultation – seeking out of another for other opinions, counsel and advice, where a mutual and honest deliberation occurs for the matter of service of the King.
- Collaboration – stepping in the direction of working with others in a manner that jointly fosters harmony and service because of the indwelling of the Holy Spirit.
- Consecration – separating from the World’s way of doing things to dedicate ourselves to Serving and Worshiping God while living the Christian life.
|1024×768 (SVGA/XGA) | 1280×1024 (SXGA) | e-Courage
Just as with the “Four C’s” in the diamond classification process, these Four See’s are also in reverse. We will ONLY do things for God the Father and keep doing them according to His Grace, Mercy and Power, if we address the first thing with fourth See and work backwards. Take a look at them: separate, step, seek and be serious. They will fall into order totally OPPOSITE of what the world would have us believe.
OH what a lesson to learn and excitement to realize that while my desire is to get you to “See” what and how the world looks at us, it is MORE important for us to “See” like the Master wants us to do so! Before we EVER do something for the God of all Creation, we NEED to be in full communication with Him – trust you me, the world will know that we have been. There will be NO way to hide it!
Concept Behind The Series
The Four See’s Series contains five (5) total images, the first of which sets up the Series.
Consecration • Collaboration • Consultation • Consideration
Separating from the World, Stepping in the Direction,
Seeking out of Another & Being Serious about
what God the Father has for Us to Do!
An incredible set of large Hydrangea bloom balls and one little attention getting Jasmine round out this group of background images.
NOTE: All of the photography presented in this section of this Series is the work of William A. Turner, taken at our home and my office in Raleigh, North Carolina.
There are five (5) images in this set of prints, which are centered around the thought of what “others See” in us as images chosen for each verse of Scripture and “C” presented.
