Persuaded

In doing some research today on “true” love for a new project, came across a Series done a while back which is called the “Persuaded” Series. Oftentimes it has been said that we can be persuaded to do this or that by the peers we pay attention to and/or the friends that we keep. Could we be SO persuaded by something to be inseparable from what it really stands for?

Do others see our RELATIONSHIP with Christ pour out of us in the most difficult of times? Even in the midst of the raging storm that is going on in our lives RIGHT NOW – will they? Can they distinguish our intents, goings and doings? Admittedly — this print and accompanying verse are NOT easily swallowed – a beautiful peach colored rose with a STORM verse – more like a GAIL FORCE HURRICANE verse.

Will others be Persuaded that God the Father is REAL to us and that the Holy Spirit is in control of us during those times? Those things ring true through SALVATION. Even in the midst of times of challenge, may each of us remember that even when others go through the briar patch, even ourselves, that the Lord intends better for us.

I’m Persuaded that my Salvation is not just mine to keep to myself, but the ultimate Gift of God, through Jesus Christ, that everyone should keep seeing – even in the bumps and grinds of life. We have an opportunity to show forth the “True Love” that has been shown to us in EVERYTHING we do. Do NOT be content on them just seeing it though a bit here and there – TELL them about HIM!

Making A Joyful Noise

The thought of the word “Thanksgiving” holds different memories for each of us and is made an application of many things. One is the time of the year which we call “Thanksgiving”, a celebration and proclamation generally observed the fourth Thursday of November in the United States. The development of this Series coincides with this date purely in time-frame, but is not specific for this time only in its presentation. Rather, it is about living in an attitude of “thanksgiving” not as a holiday, but as a matter of Praise!

We can and should be looking to our Creator’s Goodness and Mercy, by way of His Word applied to the lives of His Children. It is not merely enough to just “read” a verse like a “healing” Scripture when we have a challenge or problem, we need to understand the Promises in the Book are Covenants given to us by God Himself!Just think… We have given to us in our own language for us to have PRAISE within – not OVER! Oh yes, some of the time there is correction which we don’t particularly like and chastisement for our making our own pathway instead of taking His which He will provide and make way for each of us. We NEEDS be careful to consider His Ways for they are ALWAYS best. Ask anyone who has strayed and has been brought back into the fold, it is a glorious return once all is made right.

You may be asking yourself right about now “What in the world is he talking about?” – glad you asked… The smallest of things get my attention at times – this one is ONLY five (5) verses of Scripture. Four (4) of them are the directions and the fifth one is the answer to WHY that each one of us have buried inside of us.

Now – the dilemma – which one??? You will HAVE to go to the site to see all of them — there are 36… My choice this time around is from the Do This… model. See them all here:

Welcome to The Encouragement Chronicles

This time of the year is my absolute favorite – both Thanksgiving and Christmas seasons – not because it is the closing of a year, but that it brings family together, giving way to a bountiful manner of Encouraging others.  Now of course, for anyone that knows me, where food is involved – it is going to be a GOOD time!  It also provides an opportunity to re-kindle relationships and catch up on the happenings in others lives, how God the Father has Blessed in the lives of those whom we cherish and to recognize why we Celebrate, truly being Merry!

For some though, even those who may be receiving this Chronicle, this time of the year may come with a less than celebratory tone – for someone it may have been a long time since this time of the year has been full of Joy and Happiness…  A large part of the reason that DeliverTheWord.com has been created and designed in the manner that it has is because of hurting people – those that desperately need to be Lifted Up, Encouraged and Cherished!  We each have the opportunity to be those kinds of givers – sometimes the power of delivering a card has the capacity of helping stir the soul in a manner that needs to be captured by each of us.

There are several Series that are going to be showcased and spotlighted which are centered around Thanksgiving, giving each of us the ability to have our own personal arsenal of Christian/Bible oriented material that can be utilized in several different ways.  A Special Focus will be placed on making each Series a highlighted one for everyone.  Indeed if it had not been for the Love of the Father, in providing the Love of Jesus for us to be Redeemed, we’d have nothing to be thankful for – rather though, we have ALL we need to be Thankful in every situation because of that Love.

Series Showcase | Consider The Source

Website | http://delivertheword.com/considerthesource

Indeed this is a MOST special Series, one which no one who was in the influence range of hearing it, has any excuse of saying that they didn’t “get” what was being said.  What an incredible thing to say about the Word of God being preached!  For those who might as we suppose it – chew and meditate on it – there is NO walking away unchanged.  Everyone deals with the concept and work-a-day world concept of being “criticized” or being “the one who criticizes” others – which none of us truly likes – both of the positions are painful…

The Biblical Truth presentation for this Series is provided in the form of highlights, not a point by point, reference by reference in entirety of Bro. Dwight Ausley’s sermon on October 16th, 2011.  What is presented here includes the pieces which challenged me personally, which has led me to an INCREDIBLE Bible study – which has become my norm for “proving” each sermon preached at our church.

Our Pastor has challenged us to “prove” those things which are preached, so we are growing in the Lord past just a single service message – that alone has changed my life in the manner of Bible study.  Digging through the Word of God is an excellent way to grow.  Most of the time I find that one piece or area of a sermon is one that sticks and perks my interests, standing out above the rest.

Powerful Lesson and Biblical Truth About Criticism

This series, “Consider the Source”, is a result from one of our Associate Pastoral Staff members preaching a heartfelt message which make it par for the course for putting onto the DeliverTheWord.com Website. Bro. Dwight, you ask for it by leaving the door open – I just walked through it… It is a rather unique set of prints, images and backgrounds as they are actually split into 3 different sets in one.

By Way of Challenge

While not called by the same name, the concept is built around the VERY real challenge of “Responding in Light of the Scriptures”! The three developed sets is derived from the following thoughts:

  • Listening – Being Willing to Attend, Hearing the Truth
  • Learning – Realizing that You are Able to Pray Continually
  • Perspective – Gaining the Proper View & Leaving it to the Lord

Basis for Series

The basis for this series follows the introduction of the sermon, which Bro. Dwight put forth before getting to the heart of the mess – you will agree that it was a WHALLOP of an introduction!

Criticism: Responding in Light of Scripture

  1. Comes when we least need it
  2. Comes from the least qualified to give it
  3. Comes in a form that is least helpful

Doesn’t it always seem to be that way? Just when you don’t think you can handle one more thing or hear one more person tell you what is being done incorrectly… There they are – standing right in front of you – just waiting to see how you are going to handle, expecting this reaction or that reaction to what is going to be said about this or that.

Before the Main Message

Keep in mind… ALL of this came before he got into the “Main Message” – talk about WOW and AMEN – that is exactly what this should be for everyone. No one escapes from this challenge – an ever present wave of “Criticism”… The only changes made to his pre-delivery message were the words in his “by-line” as the saying goes – here is the enhanced one:

Responding in Light of the Scriptures

Beginning with Excerpts

Each of the prints has different Scripture references/verses, as well as an “excerpt”, which is the concept presentation of the print. They are conveyors of the thought behind each area or sets of prints. Presenting the short form of the prints message is critical and thought provoking – all of them pointing to the “Source” which we need to “Consider” in everything we do…

Message Title

The sermon title, which came after setting up or laying down the groundwork so to speak, can invoke very strong thoughts and emotions as it can often appear to conjure up ideas of pain, being hurtful, hidden fears or even possible bullying.

When People Throw Stones

Message Launching Verses for Concept

In this case, the “whisper” is the stone, which we would call words being spoken against us.

“All that hate me whisper together against me: against me do they devise my hurt.  An evil disease, say they, cleaveth fast unto him: and now that he lieth he shall rise up no more.  Yea, mine own familiar friend, in whom I trusted, which did eat of my bread, hath lifted up his heel against me.”
Psalm 41:7-9 | King James Version

The Return…

The best challenge for this Series is that we are to gain the correct perspective, talk to our Heavenly Father about those things we need our perspective changed, corrected or re-aligned…  Notice that it was not said to re-align God’s Mind, rather it is us who needs to make sure we are lined up with the Scriptures and God’s Mind on every matter.  Man’s perspective is one thing, but God’s Perspective is Holy different.

The Focus…

The focus of this portion of the Consider The Source Series is the third set of images, which are more Fall oriented with deeper colors taken from a bouquet of flowers.  Thanksgiving is normally thought of and shown through the use of Fall colors, which abound in the prints used.  Indeed we can respond in light of the Scriptures, even through how we are to Encourage others.  How are others taking what you say?  They may very well be Considering the Source by how each of us speak, act or carry ourselves.

Encouraging others, as well as ourselves, can very well be an exercise of us putting into action our desire to prove God and take Him at His Word.  I’ve found over the years that even with folks that a disagreeing time has been experienced, that when it is all said and done – the person deserves to be lifted up in prayer, which may more importantly change US/ME before we see any change in the other person.  God very well could be showing us that it is really US/ME that needs to change, not what we think needs to be changed in the other person.

Could this Series be a helper for each of US in doing so?  Personally, I already know so…

Dedication

This Spotlight feature is being dedicated to two VERY special individuals to our family.  We’ve known them for for 13 plus years now.  They have to be two of the most involved folks we’ve ever encountered – if there is phone service and enough battery available for the phone, they are going to be talking to someone.  A large part of who they are is tied to being in peoples lives.

My very first Series done for an individual is the I AM Series – one of which hangs in my office at work, another in our living room and little ones here and there.  That Series will be coming to DeliverTheWord.com shortly and an updated set is being designed of them.  The prints have gone all over the world both in physical means and electronic mediums.  One of the seven (7) designs created hang in homes of some of the dearest people I know, love and care for deeply.

These two individuals make life investments in others lives – even when it may not be popular to do so.  They do so without any applause, little or no recognition – for which they continue sharing a bit of their lives with each person whom they have contact.  They represent, in the most profound manner, this Series of prints.

Who are these two people?  It’d take a WHOLE lot more space than this entire Chronicle to even begin to tell you about them…  We have the distinct privilege to call them Pastor Tim & Ms. Sharon Rabon of Beacon Baptist Church in Raleigh, North Carolina.  A VERY special THANK YOU goes out to Pastor and Ms. Sharon for being willing to invest their lives in the lives of others and ours as they have!  They invest in such a way that others would see the Love of of the Saviour worked out before them in a real and detectable manner.

There are a number of very pointed statements made during the course of Bro. Dwight’s message including:

“Sometimes we allow the smallest of things to bother us.” | “Maybe YOU are the thrower – Are you the stone thrower?

Series Spotlight | Hallelujah! Praise the LORD!

Website | http://delivertheword.com/hallelujah

Indeed this Series has been one of Encouragement to all involved!  The tulips photographed for this Series were incredible from the very first time my eyes glanced at their deep red and screaming yellow petals – they echoed the words to a song which had been upon my mind, tongue and lips for a week – Hallelujah, originally written by Canadian singer-songwriter Leonard Cohen.  While it is not a piece of music that would be sung in church, it is one that holds a powerful story about making mistakes and things taking the “Hallelujah” right from your lips.  The rendition which is liked the most happens to be of two fellas who both play and sing the song in an adaption which blends both their voices and ability to master the simple – the word Hallelujah.

Even the idea of a “universal” word is a concept that is intriguing because we have a founded concept that all languages are different – but God has shown us something is the presence of this word: Hallelujah!  It simply means Praise the LORD!  It can be defined as such a universal word when tracing it through the many languages that have it present in the vocabulary.  While it is spelled differently, the pronunciation is nearly identical in each and every one of them – a universal word indeed!

This Encouragement Series has five (5) different items included intended at each of us being reminded to Praise the LORD!

1024×768 (SVGA/XGA) | 1280×1024 (SXGA) | e-Courage

Interesting Fact About Hallelujah

In the many languages that have the word “Hallelujah” in them, there are many different spellings, but it is the only word that universally has the same pronunciation!  The Latin word is “Alleluia”, which is a transliteration of the Hebrew word meaning “Praise Yah”, is where we get some forms of it, e.g.

  • Hallelujah
  • Halleluiah
  • Halleluyah
  • Alleluiah
  • Halleluya
  • Halləlûyāh
  • Hallelouia

Where In The Bible It Is Used

The term or word is used some 24 times directly in the Bible, in the Book of Psalms and in Revelation.  Remember most New Testaments include Psalms and Proverbs in the prints, so even in a “New Testament” they are all available to us for use.

Since the Book of Psalms is a “Song Book”, the times occurring there it is used as a request for the reader or group of readers/hearers to join in lifting Praise toward God.  Simply put, it means to “Praise the LORD!”

Interesting to note on this Series is that we each “see” emotions in various ways…  Oftentimes it reminds us of personal trials, tribulation, or maybe satisfaction and completion.  Ask yourself this question, “What does the word Hallelujah! remind you of?”  Is it possible that there may be a negative event that taught you how to say Hallelujah!, or would it be a positive one that makes it ring from you unashamed?  Whichever the case, we can as Christians say this “joyful word of praise to God” wherever we find ourselves – which is the point of this Series!

Series Spotlight | For This Cause

Website | http://delivertheword.com/forthiscause

As is often the case with each Series that is developed, there is a special “someone” or an event that impacts “those” around us in such a profound manner, that we know not what else to do, say, or offer – but to point to God’s Word.  In seeking to be an encouragement, there is a special ingredient one must have in order to make the impact “on” that person’s life or to make an impact “in” that person’s life – that ingredient is the “cause”.

Interesting enough for this set of ten prints started with a recipe from God’s Appointment Book, which turned into the prompting of the Holy Spirit in me, for what would become a stabilizing factor for not only the intended individual, but for their entire family.  One must understand, I did NOT have the “cause”, which we would instinctively turn into the word “because”, most often it is generated from the following words: who, what, when, where,  and how.

This series was launched out of a sermon and grew into a set from my personal Bible study, with a focus that has become VERY special to me – just as the person the very first print was given “For this cause“…  So special in fact, that as the design was completed for the African Daisy, pulled down a print from my wall in the office, popped out the glass, exchanging the image so that I would DO exactly as the Holy Spirit had prompted me.  GET THIS PRINT OVER THERE – DO SO IMMEDIATELY.

1024×768 (SVGA/XGA) | 1280×1024 (SXGA) | e-Courage

The Response – PRICELESS

The For This Cause Series blossomed into a set of 10 vibrant images with ever more powerful Scripture presentations, beginning with a statement that should be upon each of our hearts for each and every person we pray for:

For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding;
Colossians 1:9 | KJV

We indeed are honored to pray for this family who have grown to be “special” to us, which we have been so the much more encouraged by them, as we seek to “continue to pray for them enough of everything, no more, no less, not over, not under – just exactly ENOUGH. Period.”

The Desire – FULFILLED

Something that had never crossed my mind, which came home to roost so to speak, is the following statement:

I have my own flower garden in my office, thanks to you.

It is the desire of my heart to provide a message of encouragement through the lens of a camera, seeing not only God’s Handiwork, but to also presenting in harmony God’s Word, such that we have all the reminder we need for wherever our eyes might look…

The phrase “for this cause” appears 24 times in the Bible, only once in the Old Testament and 23 in the New Testament.  Thus the 10 prints for this series are built around this specific phrase and speak of Lord and what He has done for us already, taken from Colossians chapter 1, verse 9 through 17 of the New Testament.  It speaks of His love for us.  These are just the tip of the iceberg so to speak, but are a wonderful place to start in knowing He loves us!

Gods Word Will Stand

Oftentimes we may associate a well built design, with the strongest known materials and master craftsman skill with anything that is built to last. Generally speaking, anything that can stand up to the elements of life will be said to be able to “withstand” anything that can be thrown at it. God’s Word could be comparatively spoken of with a likewise motive and description.

We can have those exact same qualities spoken of us if we will just stand with the Word of God! Just as it has taken those men and ladies lives to defend our country and the freedom we enjoy, they were willing to take a stand for what they believed and held dear. It is a battle, waged greatly by an unseen hand who would try to convince us that the Word is old, outdated and/or out of touch with reality. Amazingly shown through even by people who don’t believe the Author of the Word, over and over again it has been proven to be relevant for Today.

Over time, each of us could expect to change the way we approach certain things, simply if for nothing else, that we have grown older, hopefully more wise and have learned better how things can be done in a more expedient manner. The Word does not change, it is us who are changed and transformed by the Word as it performs a work in us. We change more into the likeness of Christ, which creates an opportunity for God’s Word to speak to us for what in many ways could be said to the point of “being made for us at the time we need it.”

Then comes that question of all questions as it appears sometimes “Are you SURE???”, yes I am certain that God’s Word is SURE!

SCRIPTURE: “The works of his hands are verity and judgment; all his commandments are sure. They stand fast for ever and ever, and are done in truth and uprightness.”
Psalm 111:7-8 | King James Version

So Much The More

In today’s ever swirling world, it has to be recognized that many things are changing around us, even right before our very eyes – some of them good, some of them not so good. Churches are being tugged and pulled in various directions in trying what appears to be everything “under the sun”, where what that should be doing is “Everything By the Son” – sure would have a MUCH better light to see by if we would just “see” it that way.

The correct focus is one that requires us to look upward first, realizing that our walk with the Lord needs to grow stronger day by day. With our fellowship and relationship being nurtured, as well as our vision of things that are going around us being adjusted by the Father’s consideration, we will find that it is ever more important to have those around us be our Spiritual family – the local church.

That thought is presented in the following verse which is where the Series name has been developed from:

“Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.”
Hebrews 10:25 | King James Version

It is my hope and prayer that each of us will give consideration to seeking HIM in a more real manner each and every day of our lives! Not as a cliche, but as to Encourage ourselves and others by having a real relationship with the very God of Heaven through His Son with the fullness of the Holy Spirit… As we see the day approaching!

Others are depending on us doing JUST THAT – having a Relationship that can be shown through our lives and discussed by our mouths as they see, as well as hear us and have the opportunity to act upon the Good News that Jesus Saves!

My Redeemer

So many things come to mind with the word “Mercy” – it is first letter capped to give it the correct and appropriate Honor because it is God’s Doing…  One of those is the Hymn – At Calvary, the refrain follows:

Mercy there was great, and grace was free;
Pardon there was multiplied to me;
There my burdened soul found liberty
At Calvary.

Am certainly THANKFUL for Calvary, which shows through the Everlasting Kindness of the LORD to us.  We as Christians have the assurance that what He speaks is True and Sure – “Saith the LORD thy Redeemer”.

It is my HOPE and PRAYER that this will ENCOURAGE you today!!! Please share – you never know who is going to REALLY NEED this today from YOU!
