True From The Beginning

How many times, especially in recent days, have people said they were going to do this or do that — at which you turned to look at them and thought to yourself “Wonder how long it will take this time for them to decide not to do what they said they would?” We could easily apply that to “political” candidates, people who are public figures, but what about me??? or you??? or us??? It is a matter of “consider the source” thinking. Be honest with yourself on this one, we do just that – we gauge or measure people to our own set of standards, experiences – often even by our hurts, disappointments… Now translate that to the Bible – Who wrote it? God the Father, it is His Word. What is different about the “source” – for one it is everlasting, a second would be that it never changes, a third would be that history proves it’s truth and the future is already chronicled within the pages of Scripture. It is the most amazing book mankind has ever been given, for which it tells a story — His Story — by a perfect standard – God’s. It makes me much more aware of what is said to others, for it is more obvious that people are considering the source — which I want to be founded, backed up by the working of the Holy Spirit inside of me, such that others have no doubt where that source comes from! The included print/design is just one of 32 in this Series – Consider The Source – you’ll find the rest of them here: http://delivertheword.com/considerthesource/

Then Spake Jesus

Have had the question asked of me recently “Who Are You Following?” Good question. The next one coupled with it makes an even more interesting consideration: “Who Are You Listening To?” The verse for this print is one many will be familiar with, John 8:12 KJV “Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.” We as humans do two things almost automatically – follow what we see (chase after) and look for what is making noise (hunting for). This verse addresses both of those items in a single verse. Jesus spoke the words to them, described what they would see and gave them an expected end – using both sight and hearing. My question to each of us is VERY simple and something EVERY one of us do – Why are you listening to the person whom you are following? Turned it around on you didn’t I? My purpose is purely motive – what motive do we have in listening to those who are influencing us? Jesus gave DIRECT purpose, painting both sides at the same time, giving positive and negative, then provides the motive. We each are being influenced and are influencing others – does Christ have that FIRST position as the ultimate WHO? Jesus said “I am the light of the world”… Our attraction should be more than just magnetic! Strengthen According Unto Thy Word

It is very interesting to me to pay attention to what people say, particularly the “Phrases” used to state the obvious, which is when what should be apparent is right before our very own eyes. Does what you say, how you say it and where you are willing to put what you have to say on the line make a difference? Yes, matter of fact, Y-E-S it does, even when you think NOTHING will come of it. Just had an individual who noticed my tag-line in my corporate e-mail sent to her, to send me back a simple note to let me know that she needed to be reminded of the simple truth of James 4:10 KJV… She further stated that she “needed that exact reminder” and thanked me for sending it to her “just in time” where it made a difference. Then came the phrase which should make everyone STOP and REALIZE God Almighty has both your attention and the one conversing with you – “YOU must BE a CHRISTIAN!” When that is heard, am careful, but set the hook immediately as both of my Grandfather’s have taught me to do when fishing for fish — for this is fishing for folks souls for the Master! In the conversation that ensued, constructed the net as to find out her Eternal destination and gave ONLY God’s Word as the Strength she could draw from. The print here is all about that – According to HIS WORD (of course adjusted to the correct tense to make my statement make sense). May we REALIZE the meaning of Psalm 119:28 | KJV: “My soul melteth for heaviness: strengthen thou me according unto thy word.” To see this one and the other 7 in the Phrases Series go to: http://delivertheword.com/phrases/prints

Teach Me

Ever considered why??? Isn’t that a question that the WORLD seems to be asking at every turn, in every place and in every arena of our lives! This Series — Thy Word — uses the most interesting passage of Scripture to help us understand Why!

The main focus comes from the words “Thy Word” which is referring to the Bible and came from a challenge given to us as a consideration to business owners in our church. The eight verses used as a launching pad were Psalm 119:105-112 | KJV. Have you ever given a thought as to WHY God gave us His Word? Did He mean for us to read it once, put it down and not revisit it again until the next crisis comes along… Hardly! If you spend just a little time in those Sacred pages, it will GET into YOU… Showing someone that truth is far more powerful than telling them.

It is for our Direction | our Defense | our Delight — do you see the Word of God in that Light or manner? When a challenge is presented to you in the form of a storm, concern about something going on in someone’s life who is dear to you, or just the general challenge of the times in which we live — do you immediately think of asking the Lord to “Teach You”… When all of life’s problems seem to be dumping everywhere, all at the same time, who or what do you turn to first? Know someone else who appears to be there as well or possibly instead??? Then have I got a WONDERFUL tool to point you to…
